UTORI was created from a simple belief: caring for yourself should feel intentional, not rushed.

Inspired by the Japanese concept of yutori (ゆとり) — a feeling of spaciousness, of slowing down and allowing yourself time — UTORI was born from the desire to bring that feeling into the everyday.

At UTORI, we believe in the value of simple moments — often private, everyday moments where we have the chance to slow down and reconnect with ourselves. These moments matter.

We began with handcrafted soap, made in small batches using the traditional cold process method and carefully selected ingredients. We choose ingredients for their purpose and properties, creating simple formulations with what matters and leaving out what doesn't.

As UTORI grows, so will our collection of everyday care essentials. Different products may call for different ingredients and formulations, but the same care goes into every choice — from what goes into each product to the moments in which it is used.

This slower approach allows us to carefully combine oils, botanicals, clays, and other ingredients while giving each batch the time and attention it deserves. For us, cold process soap making is not only a method — it is a mindful process where care and intention become part of every bar.

Why does UTORI soap need time to cure?

Our soap bars are handcrafted using the traditional cold process method.

After each batch is made, our soap is given 4–6 weeks to cure before it is ready to use and ship.

During this time, the soap naturally develops its firmness and finish. We don't rush the process — each batch is given the time it needs.

What ingredients do we use?

We use carefully selected ingredients, including natural oils, botanicals, essential oils, clays, and natural powders.

Each ingredient is chosen for its qualities and purpose, allowing us to create simple formulations without unnecessary additions.

Our soap bars are made without synthetic fragrances.

How should I care for my soap bar?

To help your soap bar last longer, allow it to dry fully between uses.

Keep it away from direct water streams and avoid leaving it sitting in water. A well-drained soap dish allows air to circulate and helps maintain the firmness of your bar.

For a richer lather and longer-lasting experience, use your soap with a natural sponge or washcloth and enjoy each moment with intention.
